Last year, we are aspire ran a Health & Wellbeing Week for colleagues. A week devoted to shining a spotlight on physical and mental health and wellbeing. It was an eye-opening experience and helped all of us to understand just how important it is to properly take care of ourselves and those around us.
Following the success of this, we decided to bring it back with an even bigger programme of events. So big, in fact, that we extended it to cover the whole month of October!
So, what took place in Health & Wellbeing Month 2018?
We had a wide range of activities on offer in a number of locations, focused on both physical and mental wellbeing.
Some old favourites were back for 2018, such as:
- Know Your Numbers – where we looked at BMI and blood pressure
- Flu jabs
- Health walks
- Hearing checks
- Slimming World vouchers
New for 2018, we rolled out Indian head massages, mental health first aid training, mindfulness, and a wellbeing-themed Book Club.
We also provided information on the Bike to Work scheme and two national health campaigns: Stoptober (help with quitting smoking) and Go Sober for October.
There was high demand for many of these activities, and we had a fantastic response from colleagues.
Here are just a few of the amazing things we achieved last month!
