At a time when many are celebrating Christmas, it’s also a time when colleagues from across we are aspire do a little bit extra to show they care, supporting customers through a range of initiatives over the Christmas period.
We’ve already hosted a number of Christmas lunches at our community living schemes and customers at our Gordon Court scheme have enjoyed a Father Christmas pantomime performance! We’ve also welcomed photography students from Newcastle College to showcase their work in an exhibition at Gordon Court.
Colleagues from across the group have given their support through their Realise pledges and using their volunteering days; customers at Mill Rise are enjoying Christmas lights and decorations in their outdoor area, a gift wrapping service is being offering to customers across a number of our community living schemes, presents have been donated for care leavers and parcels of much-needed items are being donated to people at the Lou Macari centre.
PM Training is leading a sale and recycling of Christmas trees and Artworks is making Christmas metalworks creations, both with funds going to Realise charity. Cerris Homes is offering special discounts on the reservation of new homes over Christmas and the pinnacle of all our work over the Christmas period is our Community Gift appeal where we’ll see thousands of gifts donated by our colleagues and Tesco customers, which will be donated to local charities to distribute to children who might not otherwise get a Christmas present.
And last but not least, we can’t forget Breakfast with Santa which took place last weekend. Colleagues and their children were invited to meet Santa in his grotto at Kingsley, where Christmas stories were told, crafts made, and presents given. Fantastic to see children having fun!
It’s fantastic to see so many activities happening to show we care. #peoplefirst
